BOARD DISCUSSION ITEMS
Resignation of Supervisor Laurie Williams
Motion. On motion by Mr. Vutz, seconded by Mr. Parry and passed, the Board approved Resolution No. 2011-22 irrevocably accepting the resignation of Laurie Williams as a Supervisor of Schuylkill Township and effective immediately she no longer holds office. The Board concurred that accepting the resignation was in the best interests of the township and extended their best wishes for Ms. Williams’ future endeavors.
Mr. Butera advised the Board that per the Second Class Township Code, upon the acceptance of Ms. Williams’ resignation, the Board has thirty (30) days to appoint a successor. If the Board does not make an appointment by January 20, 2012, the vacancy must be filled within fifteen additional days by the vacancy board of the township.
The Board agreed to postpone discussion on this matter until the January 3, 2012 re-organization meeting.
2012 Township Budget
Mr. Parry, on behalf of the Board, commended Mrs. Bird, Township Manager, for her excellent work on the budget. Mr. Parry reiterated that the proposed budget balances with no tax increase while maintaining the township services at present levels. Mr. Parry said that it was his recommendation as Treasurer that the proposed 2012 budget before the Board be approved.
Motion. On motion by Mr. Parry, seconded by Mrs. Cohen and passed, the Board approved the 2012 budget for the township.
Videotaping of all Board of Supervisors’ meetings in 2012
Motion. Mr. Morrisson moved that the Board approve videotaping all Board of Supervisors’ meetings in 2012 utilizing the services of Phoenix Media Group (“PMG”). Mr. Parry seconded.
Mr. Parry asked that this discussion item be tabled until the January 3, 2011 regular business meeting stating that he and the rest of the Board had just received the PMG quote and could not vote until he had a chance to review the terms. Mr. Vutz and Mrs. Cohen concurred.
Motion. Mr. Morrisson amended the motion to approve only videotaping the January 3, 2011 Re-Organization and Regular Business Meetings of the Board of Supervisors. The motion was not seconded.
A vote was called on the original motion to videotape all Board of Supervisors’ meetings in 2012. The motion did not pass 1-3.
