Friends of Pickering Preserve Seeking Volunteers

The Pickering Preserve is a 25 acre nature preserve and dedicated open space located on Rt. 29 behind the Stove Shop. There is a gravel parking lot and mowed trails. The preserve encompasses a portion of the Pickering Creek and includes a variety of habitat such as forest, meadow and wetlands.

The Friends of Pickering Preserve is looking for individuals or groups to help at the preserve with plantings, weeding and trimming the vegetation as well as other projects. They will soon be undertaking a large tree-planting and invasive weed management project and are in need of volunteers.
