Schuylkill Township
is located along the Schuylkill River
on the eastern border of Chester County
in southeastern Pennsylvania.

The township covers 9.44 square miles.
Population at the 2010 census was 8,516.

The Schuylkill River forms the township's
northern boundary, and Mount Misery
(also known as Valley Forge Mountain)
is the southern boundary. To the east is
Valley Forge National Historical Park.
The Borough of Phoenixville lies to the north
and west.

Changes in the Collection of Earned Income Taxes
Act 32 of 2008 amends the Local Tax Enabling Act to require the county-wide consolidated collection of earned income tax (EIT). See the attached notice for details.
The Chester Tax Collection Committee (CTCC) recently appointed Keystone Collections Group to serve as the Earned Income Tax (EIT) and Local Services Tax (LST) collector for school and municipal taxing authorities within Chester County. More information >>>

Please note that taxes being filed by residents or businesses with Keystone Collections should contain the correct Political Subdivision (PSD) codes. For reference, use this listing from the PA Department of Community & Economic Development of codes for every school district in Pennsylvania.

Letter from Chief Jason Cole, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, about West End Ambulance continuing to provide rescue services in Schuylkill Township.

Great American Cleanup
--Volunteers Needed--

Volunteers are needed for the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, June 1st, at 10 a.m. The target for this year’s cleanup event will be Pawlings Road. Further information is available on the event poster.This event is an Environmental Advisory Council project.

Valley Park Wetland Mitigation-Meadow Project
Project Update May 3

The Township is in the process of installing a wetlands area within the property called Valley Park. The project will create a bio-diverse area that will incorporate wetlands, a meadow incorporating native plants, and stream restoration. More information and photos are available at the project page.

Schedule for Resident Golfing at Phoenixville CC
Township residents are invited to golf at the Phoenixville County Club two Mondays a month starting May 6. The full schdule is available here along with the course regulations. This information will be available throughout the summer at the Information for Residents page.

Township Composting Yard Closed Indefinitely
The Schuylkill Township Compost Yard will be closed indefinitely effective February 22, 2013. Township residents may take their yard waste to the Phoenixville Compost Yard on S. Second Street (across from the Phoenixville Sewer Department at 17 2nd Avenue). Proof of residency may be required. For hours and other information, visit the Phoenixville Compost Yard website.
